Heat Wave!
Sunday, April 26th, 2009
We had our first day of summer yesterday, IN APRIL! It was hot outside yesterday! Just wanted to share a few photos from our venture to the park with some friends.

Bryce’s little cheeks got so rosey! Which of course aided in her absolute adorableness

Miss Hailey and her parents joined us for some fun times at the non-shaded (this time of year) park.

I love this picture of Bryce, even though it’s not “in focus”, I really enjoy the softness of it.

We spent some time in the grass, she was not so sure that she liked it. It’s hard to tell, but she’s lifting her feet up because the grass is prickly

Little fingers, toes and flowers are killing me!

Just taking a sip off of dad’s cold coffee (good thing she doesn’t actually know how to use a straw yet!)

“Dude, chill out,” that’s what Hailey said after we took the coffee away from Bryce and she started crying.

Hey! It’s no-shirt time! Ok seriously, that belly, and those thighs…

Here’s some more baby leg for you

And some more belly.
You’re welcome.

Wedding: Eran and Justin
Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
I helped a friend by second shooting a wedding last Thursday (yay for cheaper prices!). I hadn’t done a wedding since Bryce was 3 months old, and even then, I was only there for maybe 3 hours. Anyway, I still got completely exhausted towards the end of this wedding. I couldn’t even make it to the boquet toss or anything. Granted, the wedding ran late, but my stamina has completely gone downhill since having a baby! I’m gonna have to do some working out or something over here
The wedding was at Meadowlark Gardens in Vienna. I have been there a few times, but always with family and it was when I was younger, so I always felt like I was being draaaaaged around. Now I totally understand the appeal. It’s SO beautiful there! Eran and Justin totally lucked out on getting the first gorgeous day of the year, it was an absolutely stunning day! Probably 70 degrees, no humidity (rare here in NoVa) and just sunny, sunny, sunny!
Anyway, pictures:

Eran and (I’m assuming) her bridesmaids made small cakes for ALL of the tables at the reception! What a cute idea! I can’t imagine how much work went into all of this, but it seems that they certainly worked their butts off. And because I took off early, I didn’t get a chance to try any of the wonderful looking cakes. But I’m sure they were awesome!

I like this, the mom watching her daughter as she is getting ready. I like watching the moms/dads throughout weddings, you can totally see the love in their eyes for their children. It’s so sweet

Tiny wedding dress detail.

More dress details.

Shoes!!

Some tree details from the gardens. I love cherry blossoms, but I love the trees with the purple buds that come out after the cherry blossoms are done blooming. Anyone know what they’re called? Also, the trees in the ceremony area had small, round mirrors haning in them. It was wonderful, they added some nice sparkle to the ceremony time. (And sidnote – the difference between the medium size pictures versus the large size pictures on this Wordpress blog are A LOT! Geeze…)

The sun hit Eran at one point and she just shined (not that she wasn’t shining anyway!). During one of the prayers she lifted her head back, the breeze caught her veil, and it was just the perfect moment. I can only imagine how the sun felt at this point in the ceremony.

Awww, yay! They’re married! I wish the green on the chairs came out more, they were fantastically wonderful

CLOSE-UP!

I adore this picture. Eran is holding her bouquet (our left) and a bridesmaids who was trying to do another duty. Anyway, I just love the veil (even though it is blown out), her body language, and how happy she looks.

Another lovely portrait of Eran.

Eran’s bridesmaids were holding her (humongously long) train for her as we were going to a new place to take pictures, so I hollered for them to strike a pose and this is what we got! They were such fun ladies

Watch out, folks, you might get burned from the hottness! I put the veil over their faces and Justin says, “Sooo, no one can see us under here, right?” I said, “nope!”, and he replies with, “raawwrrr…” I love it

Huh, another two posts in one day!
Wednesday, April 15th, 2009
Yay for being “on a roll!” Ha, just kidding. I really have better stuff to do. Like MY JOB.
I just realized I never posted any cherry blossom pictures from when I went to DC with a Flickr friend the other week. And since today is gross and dreary, and most of the cherry blossoms have lost their perfect, little petals, I thought it would be nice to post a few little pretties on here.

This one is foggy and not so generally “pretty”, but there’s something about the grey and lonely that is soothing. For some reason.

Bryce took quite a liking to the cherry blossoms. It was her first time ever seeing them and she loved just taking it all in.

Some cherry blossoms with the Jefferson Memorial behind them. This place always holds special memories for me

The Washington Monument framed with some petals. You know, I’ve lived in the DC area for a good 90-something % of my life and have never been inside the monument. One day!

The above two pictures are my friend Ingrid who I met on flickr. She met up with me and Bryce, with two of her four kiddos, and we walked around taking some pictures of the trees and then went for lunch at Teaism. Please go there someday

Here’s her little boy and girl. ADORABLE children

We found a photographers and childs heaven near the Monument. There was a beautiful canopy of trees surrounding us and it snowed petals. What magic!

The sky wasn’t blue, but it made for a nice diffuser when taking pictures of the trees. I do prefer a white background here over a blue one. It makes it a little more surreal to me.

Here are Ingrid’s kids again. Seriously, they are just so precious!

It appears that the Cherry Blossoms are not the only pretty flowers in DC during the festival! These tulips are just lovely! There were so many other colors, but I enjoyed the red and yellow ones the best. They were so striking.

Again, not a cherry blossom picture, but I love it. The fog is so pretty to me

Go.

Sooo, I know it’s a Visa commercial, but you have to admit, it is kind of inspiring!
Problem is, the kid is asleep, and it’s raining and that really demotivates me.
Wow… Way to bring a downer to the blog, Amanda.
