The Girl in the Blue Dress
Sunday, July 18th, 2010
I had about 10 minutes to get this little girl
Her name is Eliana and her mom wanted a picture of her in this blue dress (well, her Grandmother wanted a picture of her in this dress). Apparently Eliana’s Grandmother and mother (and sisters?) all got to wear this cute little number. So Eliana was the next obvious choice to wear it when she was born.

The dress is cute and all, but look at those eyelashes!!

And that smirk! HAHA! She was cracking me up

This is Luke:

He’s a pretty cute kid

He is seriously the biggest sports nut I’ve seen at 2 years old!

Also very patriotic

Hi Luke’s Mom and Dad! I’ve known Karen and Kelly for about 2 1/2 years now. We all met in our Bradley birthing class before the kiddos were even born. Kelly is in the Marines and Karen is a soccer person, so they are both these ridiculously good looking people who could probably beat you all up
They also make one good looking kid. Luke is quite a handful, he’s only 3 days younger than Bryce, and SUCH a little boy! It’s amazing the difference in attitude and playfulness of boys versus girls. I thought my kid was busy….

See? Sports nut. He has quite an arm on him! Watch out major leagues!

Oh hai, Luke!

Aww, some cute family time

Kelly had been hoisting Luke up high into the air and he loooved it!

Love this one

Tickle time on the couch!

What a fun family! I know we didn’t get to hang out too much, but I’m seriously going to miss you all when you move! I’m glad we at least have facebook to keep in touch, haha! Love you all and I wish you the best!

Dude, I know… Blogging is not my thing. But I’m gonna keep trying. Maybe one day, right?
I recently had the honor of photographing the wedding of two good friends. I met the groom while in the choir at our church, and the bride I met over time as they started dating. I *instantly* liked Linda, from the very start. She is one of those very unassuming people who makes you feel comfortable and as though you’ve known her for a long time. Jim I have known for a few years, and while he is closer to my husband, I’ve always considered him a good friend. He is funny, smart and you know for sure that Jim is one of those loyal friends who would do anything for you!
The wedding was gorgeous, yet laid back and relaxing. This is probably the least stressed out I have ever been while photographing a wedding. Both Jim and Linda went with the flow, whatever happened is what happened (not that anything bad happened, the day went so smoothly), they were flexible and receptive to what would come their way.
Jim and Linda, thanks again for choosing me, I had so much fun and felt more like a guest than your photographer on your big day
Linda got ready at her maid of honors house, but her dress was waiting for her in the basement at her parents house (which, by the way, is now Jim and Linda’s house because her parents moved out). It was a very European home (Linda and her family are from Denmark), and I loved every inch of it
Linda’s “bridal room” was very clean and open. Quite soothing!

Linda stepping into her dress, her maid of honor is on the other side of her helping her out,

I’m not sure what it is about this photo that I really enjoy, but I sure do love it!

Linda was SO excited when the car came to pick her up! She was thrilled that she was about to get married

Linda is one very eco-conscious woman. She wanted her florist to be as green as possible in the choices that were made for their flowers. Most of Linda’s flowers (including the centerpieces on the tables) were from the florists very own garden! I got to take a centerpiece home with me and it is still sitting outside on our porch (although I think I really need to water it at this point because it has been incredibly HOT here in NoVA!).

Last minute touch-ups,

On the way to see her groom!

Not the best picture, but the paparazzi were everywhere!

WOOHOO!!

So happy to be married

One of the awesome centerpieces:

I forgot to mention that the wedding was at the Hay-Adams hotel in Washington, DC (yup, the one by the White House). And people let me tell you… this was one of the BEST brunches I have ever had! I mean, they had a WAFFLE BAR! Brides, this is one option that will not disappoint anyone. Guaranteed.

More of the beautiful centerpieces. Linda was telling me that most (if not all) of the centerpieces had herbs and flowers in them were able to be used in cooking!

Linda relaxing with a glass of champagne

Shrimp Cocktail!

Behind the food stations there were some couches set up that you could relax and hang out on. There was definitely some cigar smoking times being held throughout the ordeal.

I’m assuming Linda’s dad is busting on Jim, but I can’t remember what he was saying

The Hay-Adams has some beautiful China!

Linda and Jim used Georgetown cupcake for their sweets (again future Brides, another option that will never disappoint!). YUM!

They’re cute

Oh, and did I mention that this was our view from the rooftop terrace? We could see the snipers and workers on the roof of the White House. How awesome is that?!

Listening to a speech by the maid of honor, and seriously, could not be cuter

*sigh*… what a wonderful wedding. So beautiful and full of love from two of the most genuine people I know

The Finale! (Northern Virginia/DC Maternity Photographer)
Saturday, May 22nd, 2010
So if you don’t remember my friend Michelle, you can find her previous session here. This was our final one, as Baby P. is due next week (or really any day now, you never know with kiddos). This time around we got her husband, Luke, involved with us. We took a nice walk around the lake near their house and just enjoyed the perfect weather!

Seriously, they’re adorable together

I know it’s cliche to have the partner hold the basketball next to the pregnant one’s belly, but it must have been fate because we happened to come upon a basketball on our walk. So of course I made Luke be cheesy, he enjoyed it, I know he did.

And then there were the frogs. I was not a fan, but this one was kind of cute.

I love me some good ole’ sun flare!

Apparently this is how Luke kissed Michelle for their “wedding” kiss (awww…) so they like to recreate it any chance they get

There are one of these shots of Michelle every session I took. I love the series

Yay for the home stretch! You can come now Baby P., we’re all ready for you

Miss Michelle :)
Saturday, April 10th, 2010
I have been photographing this awesome woman for a few months now. I took her first maternity photos when she was only 20ish weeks along, so she only had the tiniest of bellies (but it was super cute). Then I did another session about a month later, and now another month later. We’ve been doing a “series” of sorts, watching her grow along the way. What a fun journey!
She is so close to having this kid (due the end of May), and we are all so excited for her and her husband! They deserve nothing but the best and happiness for the rest of their lives. This child is going to be so incredibly loved
Here’s a few pictures of Michelle at 30ish weeks, such a wonderful glow!

I love how relaxed and serene she looks in this picture,

Cute, little belly-button starting to pop out

Michelle is planning on cloth diapering their new bambino, which makes me SO excited! I could talk your ear off about cloth-diapering. I absolutely love it, and it’s nothing like cloth-diapering used to be. It’s super easy and so much cuter on your baby, not to mention it’s a great way to go green. Did you know that it takes 500 years (that’s FIVE HUNDRED) for a disposable diaper to degrade? That’s just FYI. Michelle is holding a newborn cloth diaper that was just too cute to pass up a picture of!

Double the belly, double the fun!

Michelle, you are beautiful and I cannot wait for our last session! But even more, I can’t wait till we can meet your new, little, loved one!

Baby Eva (Northern Virginia Baby Photographer)
Saturday, February 20th, 2010
She’s finally here! Baby Eva, you have been long awaited in the Payne family that is full of boys
Eva is actually Dave and Lauren’s first, but everyone (myself included) thought that Lauren was going to have a boy. Needless to say, Eva was a surprise! And what a cute little surprise she is, take a look for yourself:

oh the baby yawns, they get me every time!

This kid seriously had the best faces! She is definitely her father’s child,

This scale used to be the scale that they weighed Dave’s sister on, I love family stuff that’s handed down like that:

Again with the faces

Dave and Lauren are big missions people and have travelled all over the world. On their last trip to Africa, they picked up a few baskets and Dave thought we should try Eva out in one of them. Let me say, before you see this next picture, that Eva is 10 days old when I took these pictures. Ten. The child had a stronger neck than most 2 month olds that I’ve met! Her head was up for most of the pictures, and she was awake almost the whole session! Dave and Lauren certainly have their work cut out for them!

She was hungry at this point
It takes a lot of energy to keep your head up for that long!

Along with baby yawns, baby feet also get me, I mean just look at the cute little piggies

The diaper bag is courtesy of Lauren’s mom, so we had to put it to good use

Thought we’d end with the baby feet ’cause I love them so much!

Dave and Lauren, congratulations to you both! I can’t wait to see baby Eva grow and what she will become. I have no doubt that you two will be the best of parents and that Eva will grow up in a house full of love. Can’t wait to do some family pictures with you all!

Pumpkinville
Wednesday, October 21st, 2009
Bryce and I went to this little place off of 15 called Pumpkinville with Keri and Hailey. I had such a good time! Bryce was having a great time until she fell down the slide backwards and Keri had to catch her. Then the rest of the day was really hit or miss with her sparkling attitude
Anyway, we saw tons of baby animals, and were allowed to pet a few, even though the girls wanted nothing to do with them. I bet next year they’ll be chasing them around. This is a long one, so hang on to your hats!:
This is Bryce staring down a turtle that is like 28 times her size. It’s hard to tell the turtle’s size in this picture, but really… 28 times is not much of an exaggeration. The thing was ENORMOUS!

Here’s one of the cute little goats (and a picture of it’s CUTE FEET) that the girls wanted nothing to do with…

Some scary emu’s,

a cute little ladybug! I put it on Hailey, but she was not as excited about it as I was…

This llama kept following us around. And I swear it wanted to step on all the kids but never did because it knew that it probably wouldn’t get fed anymore after that.

Chickens! They were playing in the sandbox that the girls wanted to play in. Awesome.

Seriously, all these fun animals to play with, and all these neat things to do and they want to play in the dirt. Bryce cried when I picked her up and we moved on. Mom of the year…

We went on an awesome hayride. We were the only ones on, which was nice. Although at one point I swear I thought we were going to tip into the pond. Not so awesome.

We found a moon-bounce! Which was also not so much fun to drag them away from..

What a looker

Sharing time in the wagon. Well, I guess not so much sharing was going on. It was more “you can look but if you touch it I’ll hit you.”

“My preeeciouuus…” (oh man, those lips are killing me!)

Some goose gourds, or whatever they’re called.

The inspiration for the name of the place:

Cute little bugger:

Awww, she’s smiling!

Fun times had by all! Can’t wait till next year when they are big enough to not whine every 5 seconds. Yay!

My friend Linda, and her husband Tom, have a beauuutiful little girl named Sophie. She really is quite a stunning little girl, I mean, it would be hard not to be with such good looking parents!
Here’s some fun pictures from the day!

Having some fun with her stuffed animals!

Love those little feet!

A little view of her wonderfully decorated room, this is her chandelier that hangs so gracefully (I want this so much!), and below is Sophie on her changing table:

Flying time with mama!

Here are some fun family portraits:

Thanks Tom and Linda! I had so much fun with you all, I can’t wait to watch Sophie grow up into the wonderful woman that I know she will be! Love you guys
