The Girl in the Blue Dress
Sunday, July 18th, 2010
I had about 10 minutes to get this little girl
Her name is Eliana and her mom wanted a picture of her in this blue dress (well, her Grandmother wanted a picture of her in this dress). Apparently Eliana’s Grandmother and mother (and sisters?) all got to wear this cute little number. So Eliana was the next obvious choice to wear it when she was born.

The dress is cute and all, but look at those eyelashes!!

And that smirk! HAHA! She was cracking me up

Baby Eva (Northern Virginia Baby Photographer)
Saturday, February 20th, 2010
She’s finally here! Baby Eva, you have been long awaited in the Payne family that is full of boys
Eva is actually Dave and Lauren’s first, but everyone (myself included) thought that Lauren was going to have a boy. Needless to say, Eva was a surprise! And what a cute little surprise she is, take a look for yourself:

oh the baby yawns, they get me every time!

This kid seriously had the best faces! She is definitely her father’s child,

This scale used to be the scale that they weighed Dave’s sister on, I love family stuff that’s handed down like that:

Again with the faces

Dave and Lauren are big missions people and have travelled all over the world. On their last trip to Africa, they picked up a few baskets and Dave thought we should try Eva out in one of them. Let me say, before you see this next picture, that Eva is 10 days old when I took these pictures. Ten. The child had a stronger neck than most 2 month olds that I’ve met! Her head was up for most of the pictures, and she was awake almost the whole session! Dave and Lauren certainly have their work cut out for them!

She was hungry at this point
It takes a lot of energy to keep your head up for that long!

Along with baby yawns, baby feet also get me, I mean just look at the cute little piggies

The diaper bag is courtesy of Lauren’s mom, so we had to put it to good use

Thought we’d end with the baby feet ’cause I love them so much!

Dave and Lauren, congratulations to you both! I can’t wait to see baby Eva grow and what she will become. I have no doubt that you two will be the best of parents and that Eva will grow up in a house full of love. Can’t wait to do some family pictures with you all!

The kid in the Chucks
Sunday, November 29th, 2009
Here are some pictures of another family session I had a few weeks ago. I *loved* the older kid, Charlie, and how accommodating and easy he was! He was super helpful with his little brother and as one of few kids his age who actually enjoyed having pictures taken.
I also loved his shoes:

Here’s the whole fam, they were simply awesome

There were plenty of kisses to go around, it was so sweet

Seriously, these two were awesome! I’ve never met two brothers more loving..

*Love* this moment! Love it!

Here are some of just the boys

Of course it wouldn’t be a fun photo session without being allowed to throw leaves at your dad

Just the boys:

Mom and her two little men,

Thanks Schutz family! I had such fun, and I hope to see you all again sometime soon!

It’s Family Picture Season!
Thursday, November 19th, 2009
Oh boy have I been busy the past month! Wow! Everyone has wanted some family pictures for the Holiday season that is quickly and rapidly approaching. Don’t misunderstand me though, I have had a ton of fun with these family sessions. I love meeting new families and it is tons of getting to know these kids
There will be a few family sessions coming up in the next few days, but here are the Cosgriffs. They kicked off the family session season in October (side note: It’s MID-NOVEMBER?! Where did the time go?! Woah!) We had our session at Walney Park, which seems to be a popular place for all my families this season, I’ve got several more to go there.
Here’s a cute one of brother and sister hugging it out

Oh man, those eyes are killer! He’s gonna be a trouble maker!

Well, so is this little princess

We found this awesome yellow/orange tree which made for great pictures! I came back a few days later to do another family and they were ALL GONE! I can’t believe how quickly the seasons start to change so suddenly.

Aww, father-daughter bonding time

Both kids had brought their halloween costumes with them. Finley was a lion and SO CUTE

Noelle was a princess

Just throwing some rocks in the river,

And then they walk off into the sunset, awww…

What a fun time and a perfect day weather wise and leaf wise. More families to come! Thanks Cosgriff family for all the referrals

Joshua & Claire
Friday, June 5th, 2009
My friend Amy has two of the cutest kids you’ll ever meet, Joshua and Claire. Joshua just turned four and Claire will soon be turning two. Amy usually has pictures of them taken in between their birthdays every year, so she asked me to do it this year! We went to Morven Park which is right by their house in Leesburg. I have never heard of this place, apparently it is somewhat of a secret. I am SO IN LOVE with this park, seriously.. I can’t wait to go back and take some more pictures! (My font just turned bold, I’m not sure why and I can’t fix it… oh well).

Why is it so hard to get kids to hold hands? This picture is a miracle
(sweet – no more bold…)

(I loved this pool/fountain area, so Secret Garden-ish)

JUMP!

This pictures shows nothing about the pretty landscape, but just look at that beautiful child!

What a GREAT BENCH!

They also have this great iron gate (I know, it’s hard to tell from this picture)

This cobblestone wall is also… *sigh*. I have a thing for cobblestone. Except, yes, I realize that is brick. Whatever

More of the awesome, old wall.

I told you I have a thing for this wall…

I asked them to show me how wide they could open their mouths. I think Joshua wins
Yay for kids and beautiful parks!

The Rafferty Sisters
Thursday, June 4th, 2009
Eileen and I used to work together at the Adoption Center of Washington. I was there as an intern my senior year at Mason while going for my Social Work degree. She emailed a while ago and asked if I would take pictures of her and her sisters for their parents anniversary. We walked around Georgetown on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, and EVERYONE was out!
But we had tons of fun anyways, there was definitely a lot of jumping
And here they are in no particular order (because I am once again running out of time tonight):

(aw, I should have uploaded the color one because there is an amazing red door behind them. Just imagine, please.)

Boy do I ever love this cobblestone street!

And oddly enough, this being the last picture of this post, it was one of the first pictures I took that evening. Well, I guess that’s not odd. Anyway…
Thanks, Eileen! Hope your parents liked them!

Senior Session – Dane
Saturday, May 30th, 2009
I did my first senior session the other week (of course I’m just now getting around to posting it..). Dane is graduating this year (Congrats!) and is headed to the Marines! We took his pictures around the Iwo Jima Memorial around the time the sun was setting. And since my little one is starting to get up from her nap, I need to make this quick! Which is lucky for you because you won’t get my usual “fun” commentary

Dane’s mom (Hi Tonya!) really wanted a jacket-over-the-shoulder picture. It came out less cheesy than we thought

I told Dane to look off into the distance like he was looking into his future, you know, all those cheesy things people say to Grads. We got one picture before we all laughed.
Thanks Dane (and Tonya!) for asking me to take your senior pictures, it really was an honor! And Dane, good luck in the Marines!

I AM SO FAR BEHIND ON PICTURES.
Tuesday, May 26th, 2009
You would think that I could post a few pictures now and then, but… apparently not!
Anyway… I took some pictures of a guy and his dog the other day. I’ve never done that before, but I ended up having a really good time! Michael Ewing from Lindsey Volkswagen (there’s some promo for ya, Mike!) asked me to take pictures of his 5 1/2 month old English Bulldog, Murphy. Murphy is SO CUTE and just the sweetest bulldog you’ll ever meet! Here he is, only to get cuter from here on out:

Seriously, I know it’s not the best picture, but I just love it so much! His head looks monstrous compared to his leg!

Love those curly tails!

Taking a quick water break.

Poor puppy totally fell down the stairs. Then he just laid there like he totally meant to fall.

CHAAAAAARGE! (I know. It’s out of focus. But he was a fast dog. I am only posting it because the way his jowls are flapping are the best thing ever, really).

Here’s a closeup of that cute, puppy face.

The man and the dog.

And finally: the I-Can-Get-Whatever-I-Want-Because-This-Is-So-Dang-Cute head tilt (geeze, that was hard to type for some reason!).
And coming, hopefully, in the near future, a senior portrait session, and a sisters session! Yay!
