Inauguration Day
20 January 2009
For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and nonbelievers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.
~Barack Obama~
Wes, Bryce and I went to American Flatbread today to watch the Inauguration. There was a pizza and salad bar, and just warmth and happiness all around! They were going to have a projector shoot it onto a screen but couldn’t get it working in time. But we were able to watch it on the tv in the bar, all nice and warm. Poor people in DC in the 29 degree weather, although it sure looked like fun! I would have loved to have gone down there, but there was no way I was going to brave that cold for HOURS with a 6 month old! It was nice being able to eat and drink while watching the Inauguration.
Anyways, on to the pictures!

Well, of course I can’t start off a post without a picture of Bryce
When we got there she was just staring all around, taking everything in.

A “view” of the Capitol.

Just moments before Obama is sworn into office, can you see the excitement in Bryce’s face? ![]()

VP Joe Biden

Everyone watches in anticpation as Obama is sworn into office.

The Moment.

Just moments after Obama is sworn in. I love the woman’s face on the right, she was just so happy throughout the entire lunch.

Obama’s Inaugural Speech

I love this picture of the owners. The wife is hugging her husband just shortly after Obama was sworn into office. They were both very happy
What a wonderful lunch, what a wonderful day
