Wedding: Eran and Justin

21 April 2009

I helped a friend by second shooting a wedding last Thursday (yay for cheaper prices!). I hadn’t done a wedding since Bryce was 3 months old, and even then, I was only there for maybe 3 hours. Anyway, I still got completely exhausted towards the end of this wedding. I couldn’t even make it to the boquet toss or anything. Granted, the wedding ran late, but my stamina has completely gone downhill since having a baby! I’m gonna have to do some working out or something over here :)

The wedding was at Meadowlark Gardens in Vienna. I have been there a few times, but always with family and it was when I was younger, so I always felt like I was being draaaaaged around. Now I totally understand the appeal. It’s SO beautiful there! Eran and Justin totally lucked out on getting the first gorgeous day of the year, it was an absolutely stunning day! Probably 70 degrees, no humidity (rare here in NoVa) and just sunny, sunny, sunny!

Anyway, pictures:

Eran and (I’m assuming) her bridesmaids made small cakes for ALL of the tables at the reception! What a cute idea! I can’t imagine how much work went into all of this, but it seems that they certainly worked their butts off. And because I took off early, I didn’t get a chance to try any of the wonderful looking cakes. But I’m sure they were awesome!

I like this, the mom watching her daughter as she is getting ready. I like watching the moms/dads throughout weddings, you can totally see the love in their eyes for their children. It’s so sweet :)

Tiny wedding dress detail.

Some tree details from the gardens. I love cherry blossoms, but I love the trees with the purple buds that come out after the cherry blossoms are done blooming. Anyone know what they’re called? Also, the trees in the ceremony area had small, round mirrors haning in them. It was wonderful, they added some nice sparkle to the ceremony time. (And sidnote – the difference between the medium size pictures versus the large size pictures on this WordPress blog are A LOT! Geeze…)

The sun hit Eran at one point and she just shined (not that she wasn’t shining anyway!). During one of the prayers she lifted her head back, the breeze caught her veil, and it was just the perfect moment. I can only imagine how the sun felt at this point in the ceremony.

9

Awww, yay! They’re married! I wish the green on the chairs came out more, they were fantastically wonderful :)

10

CLOSE-UP!

11

I adore this picture. Eran is holding  her bouquet (our left) and a bridesmaids who was trying to do another duty. Anyway, I just love the veil (even though it is blown out), her body language, and how happy she looks.

12

Another lovely portrait of Eran.

13

Eran’s bridesmaids were holding her (humongously long) train for her as we were going to a new place to take pictures, so I hollered for them to strike a pose and this is what we got! They were such fun ladies :)

Watch out, folks, you might get burned from the hottness! I put the veil over their faces and Justin says, “Sooo, no one can see us under here, right?” I said, “nope!”, and he replies with, “raawwrrr…”  I love it :)

Those trees might be crepe myrtles! I havent even noticed the great timing of their “in between bloom” until this year, and had I asked my mother the very same question.

I really liked the picture with the girls getting ready – you did a great job!

Oh, I think the trees in blossom in your picture above, are redbud.

These pictures are WONDERFUL!! My favorites are of Eran and her maids “striking a pose”, The Prayer, and – best of all – Under The Veil; its so real and secretive and pure.

SOOOOO beautiful! I felt for a second that i was there…the photos are great, and the energy from the day is palpable! Rarrrrrrrrrrrr. That’s what a husband says to his new bride when no one is looking. Awesome.
